The Chair of Applied Mechanics at the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, invites application for 2 research positions working on the modelling and simulation of the electro/magneto-mechanical coupling effect in polymers.
The successful applicants will be involved in characterizing the electro/magneto-mechanical properties and in developing numerical methods to simulate the deformation process of electro/magneto-active polymers under electric loading. Experience in experimental work, material modelling and numerical methods such as the finite element method is highly expected.
Qualification:
Candidates should have a university degree (for the PhD position) or PhD (for the postdoctoral position) in physics, materials science, civil, mechanical or manufacturing (more…)
